Catamounts Cross Country racing into 2024 season

KEYSER, W.V. – The WVU Potomac State men's and women's cross country teams released their 2024 schedule Friday morning.

The squads, led by head coach Chris Biser, will begin with a visit to the Wolfpack Invitational on August 30th at Region 20 opponent Westmoreland.  The Catamounts last ran that course at the 2023 NJCAA Region 20 Championship where Griffin Paugh placed 3rd overall in Division II.  The women's team earned first place overall with five of the top seven runners wearing the Catamount uniform. Returners Averi Everline and Hannah Hardy placed 6th and 7th respectively.

After battling the Wolfpack, the squads will travel to Shenandoah University and Penn State Fayette in September.  As they roll into October they will travel to Pitt Greensburg and Gettysburg College. The NJCAA Region 20 Championship will be held this year at Hagerstown Community College on October 26th with NJCAA Nationals being held this year in Richmond, Virginia.

Last year the Catamounts saw national rankings on the women's side several times thorughout the season, starting at 18th and climbing as high as 11th in the nation before the NJCAA Championships.
