WVU Potomac State College is proud to announce the hiring of Geoffrey Ruttenberg as the new Head Coach of the Catamounts Women's Soccer Program. Ruttenberg brings over two decades of coaching experience across professional, collegiate, and high school levels and is widely recognized for his transformative leadership and commitment to building a culture of excellence.
Ruttenberg's coaching career includes roles with the College of DuPage, Chicago House AC, and Lincoln Park High School in Chicago, where he became the all-time winningest soccer coach and led his teams to eight championship titles. His extensive coaching background is complemented by a successful professional career in real estate and a strong track record of mentorship, player development, and program leadership.

"His passion for the game, his proven ability to lead and inspire student-athletes, and his commitment to excellence both on and off the field make him the right leader to elevate our women's soccer program to new heights."
Ruttenberg holds multiple coaching certifications, including the NSCAA National Diploma and certifications through the NFHS and the LMA School of Football Management. A former multi-sport collegiate athlete himself, he earned his Bachelor of Arts from Tufts University in just three years and has long emphasized academic and athletic balance in student-athlete development.
Ruttenberg officially begins his role this fall and will lead the Catamounts into the upcoming season with a focus on building a competitive, high-character program that reflects the values of WVU Potomac State College.
