Greensburg, PA- Seton Hill’s opportunistic offense and one explosive middle inning proved to be the difference Wednesday afternoon, as the Griffins outlasted Potomac State, 11–7.

Potomac State struck first in the second inning, manufacturing an early lead. After working traffic on the bases, Dylan Rice delivered a sharp RBI single that plated Jaxon Drennen, giving the Catamounts a 1–0 edge.  In the bottom half, the Griffins capitalized on free passes and timely contact, as Kadan Hathaway lined a two-run single to flip the score to 2–1.

The middle innings turned into a tug-of-war, with Potomac State delivering its most complete offensive frame in the fourth. The rally began with situational hitting—Peyton Blue tied the game with an RBI single before Rice struck again, lacing a two-run double into the gap to put the Catamounts back in front. Moments later, Braeden Oviedo added a sacrifice fly, capping a four-run inning to make the score 5–2.

But Seton Hill answered once more before the inning closed, trimming the deficit to 5–3 on an RBI single from Tim Birch.

The fifth inning marked the turning point. With one swing, Hathanai changed the game, launching a three-run home run that vaulted the Griffins back on top, 6–5. The blast not only erased Potomac State’s advantage but injected life into a Seton Hill lineup that would not relent.

In the sixth inning Seton Hill pieced together a five-run frame built almost entirely on pressure—walks, sacrifice flies, and ground balls that found a hole. Each plate appearance compounded the last, as the Griffins stretched their lead to 11–5 without needing a barrage of hits.

In the eighth inning, Potomac State showed signs of life again as Logan Rotruck delivered an RBI single to cut into the deficit.
