WASHINGTON, PA. —After a sluggish opener, Potomac State flipped the script with a late-inning rally in game two, punctuated by Seth Healy's perfect safety squeeze that allowed PSC to pick up a split at Washington & Jefferson.

In the opener, there was little rhythm early for Potomac State as Washington & Jefferson scratched across the game's first run in the opening inning on a sacrifice fly, taking advantage of an early miscue to grab a 1–0 lead.

W&J took control in the third inning with a four-run surge. An RBI groundout, a pair of doubles, and a timely single turned a manageable deficit into a 5–0 hole.

Potomac State finally broke through in the fifth. Seth Healy reached on a fielder's choice and came around to score on John Mallow's RBI single, trimming the deficit to 5–1.

A wild pitch in the sixth allowed W&J to tack on another run, sealing a 6–1 final.

In the nightcap, Potomac State struck first in the third inning, manufacturing a run when John Mallow drove in Caden Johnson with a groundout to take a 1–0 lead.

Washington & Jefferson answered in the fourth, stringing together a pair of runs on a groundout and an RBI double to move ahead 2–1.

The Catamounts clawed back in the sixth, capitalizing on a balk that allowed Tate Musko to score and tie the game at 2–2.

The tie was short-lived, as W&J answered again in the bottom half with an RBI double to reclaim a 3–2 edge.

That set the stage for the seventh — to salvage the day for PSC.

After a lead-off strike out, Jaxon Drennen reached on an infield single.  He then moved up to second on a wild pitch.

Callen Miller started the rally with an RBI single to knot the game at 3–3.

Tate Musko then lined a single to right that moved Miller to third and put runners on the corners.  Dylan Rice came off the bench to run for Miller.

Seth Healy then executed a perfectly placed safety squeeze to score Rice and when the President's pitcher threw high over the 1st baseman Musko came round to score and left Healy at third base.

Braden Sloan then delivered a sacrifice fly to score Healy and make the score 6-3.

Jacob Stavrakis delivered a strong start, working 5 1/3 innings and limiting damage despite scattered traffic. He kept the Catamounts within striking distance, allowing just three runs.

From there, the bullpen took over. Evan Jenkins bridged the gap, earning the win, before Brock Whipkey picking up the save working the final inning.
