Catamounts Combine for Three Goals in Complete Team Win Over Cecil

September 18, 2025

North East, MD — Potomac State rolled to a convincing 3-0 victory over Cecil College on Thursday afternoon, powered by a standout performance from Jean Wicarl Vales and a dominant showing from goalkeeper Justin Leclerc.

Vales continued his strong season, netting two goals—one in each half—to lead the Catamounts to their fifth win of the year. His opening goal in the 27th minute came off a well-placed assist from an unlikely source: goalkeeper Justin Leclerc, who delivered a pinpoint long ball over the top to spark the scoring.

Leclerc wasn't done making an impact. The sophomore goalkeeper turned in a stellar effort between the posts, recording seven saves and earning a clean sheet, including a key early stop on a Cecil College penalty kick just four minutes into the match.

The Catamounts doubled their lead just after halftime when Brady Grubb finished off a quick sequence set up by Cesar Sales. Vales later sealed the result in the 88th minute with his second of the match, calmly finishing a setup from Matthieu Baudry to close out the scoring.

With the win, Potomac State improves to 5-1-1 overall and looks ahead to their road matchup at CCBC Essex on Thursday, September 25th, 2025 at 7pm.
