Wye Mills, Md. - The WVU Potomac State College women's basketball team closed out its postseason run Saturday afternoon, falling to CCBC Essex 96–69 in the NJCAA Region 20 Championship Game at Skipjack Arena. Potomac State (22-6) started the contest with strong offensive execution, jumping out to an early advantage in the opening quarter. The Catamounts led 22–18 after the first period behind efficient scoring and strong rebounding on both ends of the floor.
Sophomore Mya Glisan paced the Catamounts offensively with a game-high 23 points, knocking down four three-pointers and adding seven rebounds. Miya Harris followed with 22 points and recorded a double-double with 11 rebounds while also contributing three assists. The Catamounts continued to battle throughout the contest despite a strong second-quarter surge by Essex. Potomac State trailed 46–34 at halftime before responding with a 22-point third quarter to remain within striking distance heading into the final period.
Larkin Walker contributed across the stat sheet with 10 points, nine rebounds, six assists, and four blocked shots, helping anchor Potomac State's presence in the paint. Brylee Wetzel added seven rebounds, four assists, and two steals while helping facilitate the Catamount offense.
Despite the setback, the Catamounts capped off a highly successful season. Potomac State's 22 wins mark the program's highest single-season win total since the 2010–11 campaign and highlighted a year that saw the Catamounts advance to the Region 20 Championship Game.
Potomac State concludes the 2025–26 season with a 22–6 overall record and a Region 20 runner-up finish.
