Frederick, Md. - WVU Potomac State Volleyball delivered a decisive performance Friday night, defeating Frederick Community College in straight sets, 25–17, 25–11, and 25–22. From the opening serve to the final point, the Catamounts maintained control through strong execution on both sides of the ball.
Potomac State opened the match with steady offense and clean passing, allowing them to dictate the pace early. The second set saw the Catamounts take full command, fueled by aggressive serving and consistent net play. Frederick put together its strongest response in the third set, but Potomac State closed the door with composure and timely plays in the final stretch.
Setter Victoria Lester guided the attack with 37 assists while also adding a service ace and two block assists. At the net, Sarah Iman led the team with 13 kills, supported by standout performances from Christianna Sledge, Alyssa Abel, and Elliana Mosby, who each contributed eight or more kills. Mosby also made a major impact from the service line with six aces, while the front row combined for key blocks to halt Frederick's offensive momentum.
Defensively, Sledge anchored the back row with 14 digs, while the team totaled 47 digs and numerous block touches to limit scoring opportunities for Frederick.
With the win, Potomac State continues to build momentum as they enter the final stretch of the regular season and prepare for postseason play.
