Gettysburg, Pa. — Potomac State Cross Country closed out the regular season with a historic performance at the Aubrey Shenk Invitational, hosted by Gettysburg College. With 42 teams in attendance, including several nationally ranked NCAA Division I and II programs, the Catamounts rose to the challenge as every runner on both the men's and women's teams set a personal best.

The men opened the day with a standout performance from LJ Sealey, who led the Catamounts with a time of 27:59 in the 8K. Sealey shattered his previous best by three minutes and 17 seconds, moving into second all-time in program history. He was followed by a wave of strong performances, as Logan Hetrick (28:40), Dylan Poston (28:51), and William Boddy (29:58) all posted times that placed them within the program's Top 10 All-Time list.

Several others continued the surge of personal bests, including Richard Hudson (30:04), Sebastian Sharp (32:50), and Emmett Slayman (33:31), contributing to a total combined men's team improvement of more than 18 minutes.

In the women's 6K, Cassidy Cumberledge delivered one of the most historic races in program history. She crossed the line in 24:31, a personal best by two minutes and 37 seconds—establishing herself as the fastest 6K runner in Potomac State history. She was joined by Teagan Huff (25:27) and Phoebe McCann Weaver (26:09), who both moved into the Top 10 All-Time list.

Morgan Niland (29:38) and Lynnea Clark (34:30)—who completed her first collegiate 6K—rounded out a complete team effort in which all runners achieved personal bests. The women's squad combined for an overall improvement of more than 11 minutes.

Across both teams, Potomac State athletes recorded a combined team total PR improvement of 29 minutes and 45 seconds, marking one of the most successful days in program history.

With the regular season now complete, the Catamounts turn their attention to the postseason as they travel on Saturday, Ocotber 25th, 2025 to compete in the 2025 NJCAA Region 20 Championship meet at Westmoreland County Community College.
